Fresh Water Overflow

I have been reading through other threads and I think this is a common problem with others. Filling up my fresh water tank on my Salem DBUD and it spewing out my water once filled. Using the advise of others I have filled much more slowly which seemed to work; however upon arrival at my destination (only 15 miles away) it's draining again....probably from sloshing around. I would be down 1/3 tank for a weekend of family camping! So, my questions are: Has anyone ever rigged something up to fix this issue? And/or would it be just too much of a risk for damaging the tank? Thanks ...
