Fresh water shoots out city connection spout

I filled my water tank for dry camping. When I turn on water pump the water shoots out the city water connection spout. Any ideas?

Sure, push you finger in the city water connection and push on the check valve. It that doesn't stop it, put a plug in the city water connection until you have something better.

FINALLY got around to de-winterizing the Sunseeker today. I've been working on several other projects around the house since God knows when and since we're going out on the 24th, I figured I HAD to do some work on Sunny.
I don't have exactly the same problem, but enough of a problem. My city connection just leaks - water doesn't shoot out. So, I jumped on to ask a question and wouldn't you know it? The answer is already here!

I got drenched, but the check valve was reseated.
