Fresh water tank drain

I'm new to this forum. We just bought a 2001 Coachman Pathfinder motorhome and I'm learning new things. Our fresh water tank is under our bed in back of camper. I'm not sure which way to turn drain lever to drain tank and close it off to avoid losing water.

Why not just add some water to the tank and find out?

Where is the tank in relation to the picture?

General rule of thumb is when a valve handle is turned perpendicular to the line it's closed. Parallel to the line is open.
