Fresh water tank leaking

Hi All,

This is a question for you veteran campers:

I am preparing to pull my fifth wheel this coming weekend. I figured it would be a good idea to sterilize my fresh water tank. So I filled it and added a cup of bleach. I noticed today that it was dripping water down at the drain valve. When I touched it to try to determine where the water was coming from, I could swear I felt a small electrical charge. The kind you get from a 9 volt battery. Do any of you know what could be happening. Why is it leaking? Why would the water be charged? It is a 2011 Cardinal 3150RL

Google "RV hot skin".

You've got two issues going on... a tank leak and likely a "hot skin" condition.
You'll need to find the causes for both. I doubt they are related in any way.

If the water is leaking onto an electrical connection it could conduct enough to give you a tingle. Can you tell exactly where the water is leaking from? The drain valve is the lowest point and water could be running to that point from somewhere else. The other source could be a hot skin condition.

Somewhere you have a neutral and ground wires reversed.

I found this on a BO105 I was flying for an EMS contract. I touched the skin of the helicopter and it vibrated like the 9 volt battery you wee talking about. It happened when we were parked and the AC was running, via a 120 Volt extension cord, keeping the fluids for he patients cool.

I took the extension cord ends off (it was a replacement receptacle end) and sure enough. the white (Neutral) and green (Ground) were reversed in that receptacle.

I switched them, problem solved.

I was standing on dry concrete when it happened. If the ground is wet it can be VERY dangerous
