Fresh water tank not taking water
I'm having a problem with my 2018 Rockwood 8298WS Signature Ultralight 5th wheel fresh water tank. When I try to fill the tank with the hose, water leaks from the underbelly through the bottom protective cover. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Yes, still under warranty but not sure where it's leaking. We're currently on the road and need to fill the fresh water tank.

There is an overflow/vent line. Perhaps your tank is full? You should be able to see a drain line and the vent line. The drainline will have a valve on it. Perhaps it is open and that is why your are seeing water. Take a closer look.

Thanks cable for the advice but I have checked the drain and it is indeed closed. Pretty sure the problem in with the fill tube and tank connection. Was hoping there was a quick fix.

Probably just a loose or missing hose clamp. Detach part of the underbelly cover from just below your fill tube and peek in there with a flashlight. You should be able to see the filler tube going to the tank and maybe reach in to tighten the clamp.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

"When I try to fill the tank with the hose, water leaks from the underbelly through the bottom protective cover." I would like to clarify something: Your statement says to me that when you try to fill the tank water leaks from the underbelly. 1) Does the water start to leak soon after you start to fill the tank or 2) Does the water start to leak after the water has been running into the fresh water tank for a few minutes?. IF 1) then I would suggest you look at the fill hose not being attached to the tank properly. Unfortunately you may have to cut an access hole in the underbelly cover to be able to see the connection where the fill hose attaches to the tank. I would recommend cutting a three-sided hole at an area where you think the hose attaches to the tank. When cutting a hole such as this imagine this hole much like a square. Cut the back line and the two side lines leaving the front line as a hinge, this make taping it back up really easy. Now, IF 2) then the tank may be getting full and the overflow hose may not be attached properly, which again leads to an access point (hole) to see where the overflow line attaches to the tank. I know that the indicator lights showing how full the tank is are often misleading but by chance have you looked to see how much water the indicator is showing? Your tank may have more water in it than you think. Another issue: When the water starts to leak from the underbelly go look at the fresh water tank indicator and see how much water it indicates. Then wait until the leaking stops and read the indicator again. The leak may just be an over fill line not properly attached and the tank actually gets full just before the leaking begins. Being as this is a 2018 model 5-er I would certainly call the selling dealer, tell him your problem and location. They just might be able to find a dealer in your area who would take a look at this under warranty.

Is your fill tube still attached on the inside? After a year mine started leaking. After some exploring, the tube went around the hot water and cold water lines and was barely attached at the input so over time it pretty much came loose (still attached but a lot of water was spraying out under the sink. I had to re-route to remove the stress.

On our last TT the tank was only sitting in the cradle. When hitting a bump the tank would bounce up and hit the bottom of the floor. There was not enough slack in the overflow line so when the tank bounced it broke off the fitting for the overflow line that connects to the tank. Luckily it was the overflow and not the fill that broke so I could at least fill the tank to almost full before it started to leak until I fixed it. I bought some nylon strapping and strapped the tank down so it would not bounce anymore.

Thurman, the issue is definitely number 1. I was concerned about cutting an "access" hole due to the fact that this has already been turned under warranty and I didn't want to have a problem with that. I think I will, when I am able to stop at a park that will let me, try and pull down the coroplast underbelly and see if I'm able to see if that is in fact the problem and reconnect the hose if I can reach it.
