Fresh water tank problem

Have a 8289ws
When hooked to city water the fresh water tank fills up. Have to turn off city water and use fresh water tank. Pump works great. What's causing the water to bleed into the fresh water tank?

There is a check valve in the pump. If that valve seal is bad or stuck open, it will allow the city water to bleed through into the fresh tank.

Can this be repaired. If so where do you get parts?

It can be repaired. They make repair kits for them, but it may be just a piece of trash holding the check valve open, and all it may need is a good cleaning out.

Find the model number of your pump and you can lookup the manual for it. That will tell you the disassembly procedure for it.
