Fresh water tank specs

Please tell me that a typical FW tank has 4 inlets/outlets and not the 3 I have. It seems the previous owner tried to fit a new tank in and gave up in several ways (3 hoses and water pump line precedes a hanging petcock drain to ground). Now I see that the tank is floating a bit more than an inch over a piece of board with 2 straps and a zip-tied hunk of wood for stability?!

Obviously I need to drop the tank, assess and then I'm stuck! ...the gravity fill hose is leaking under floor. Thankfully the underbelly is gone.

Hints tips and warnings welcome!

I don't know that 4 is better then 3 or why you feel you need 4. As I think about it there is a fill, drain, pump suction. Vent can be provided by fill line or its own line which would be four. The tank they installed (if they did) more then likely bows when filled so all the water can't be drained or sucked into the pump which would explain the chunk of wood to hold the center up when the tank is full.
