Question Fresh Water Tank Vent?

Our 2008 Georgetown XL has the annoying habit of draining the fresh water tank out through the vent hose while driving.

Short of putting a plug in the end of the hose, hopefully remembering to remove said plug when not hooked up to city water, has anyone found a simple easy solution? This has been one factor preventing us from much dry camping.

Lots of threads on this. All seem to boil down to two options: 1) reroute your vent tube above the water level and include some loops in the hose. 2) install a fitting and a valve on the end of the vent hose.

I installed one of these on the vent hose which is easily seen and accessible in my fresh tank and water pump compartment.

I fill up my fresh water tank until it starts to overflow out. Give it a minute or two to settle, and if itís still running out, shut off the tap.

By the time we get to a point for dry camping, itís part of my set up routine to open the valve and we have access to the maximum capacity of the fresh water tank.
