Fresh Water Tank won't hold water

Just got my 2017 berk xl back from service and went on a trip. Tried to fill up the tank and it completely drained everything I added from a hose on the passenger side about half way back. Not sure why this is. I'm new to these coaches so sorry if this is a dumb question. Any help is appreciated as we are getting ready to leave in a few and could really use water on board!

I'm guessing you filled the on board water tank completely full?

If you did, or really close to full, the water in the tank could start sloshing as you drive down the road, and empty itself using the overflow pipe. It siphons itself empty.....very common.

To test the theory, fill it when you're parked, but not so full as to have it start emptying itself. You shouldn't lose any water. If you only lose it when you drive down the road, install an inline valve to close the overflow. Remember to open the valve before using the onboard water or you could collapse the tank sidewalls.

Worked for me.

I put a piece of tape over the vent opening. Get there with all my water.

And you are sure the drain valve to empty the tank didn't get opened during getting worked on? On my Berkshire both the overflow and tank drain are very close together. Does't take much for that valve to start letting water out.

Thank you guys all so much for the quick responses yesterday. I had an aha moment after I posted that the vent tube was next to the water pump. So duh.. I opened the access door and sure enough when they serviced the water system they left the drain hose open. Lesson learned!
