Freshwater tank fell through bottom

I went to fill up the freshwater tank and i heard a very violent noise coming from the undercarriage. I looked underneath and the enclosed underbelly wasnt enclosed anymore, the tank broke the very pitiful brace that was holding it up and ripped a huge section of the corrugated plastic off. Still waiting to hear back from dealer as the trailer is still under warranty, just something to keep in mind and look out for. Ill try to get some pics.

Not good! Imagine that tank falling through the bottom on the road. Can't believe they wouldn't over design whatever is used to keep them in place.

We were at a dealership in Canton, TX earlier this week looking at FWs and someone had bought in their Sierra for the same thing. When we saw it, we made the comment that we couldn't believe the tank had dropped through like that.

Couldnt get a hold of dealership today, so I called Forest River Warranties. They told me that if I got it fixed and mailed them receipts, no matter what they would reimburse me. Apparently this is not a common thing, but has happened in the past enough times for him to know exactly what I was talking about.... why would anyone use 1/8" angle iron to hold up that much weight. I plan on fixing it myself the right way and just billing FR on materials.

These holding braces are very thin and not to secured. For a full tank of water they should put 3 braces in there instead of 2 braces and make them more thick. The tank on our mini lite has 38 gallons aprx. and I would be afraid to fill it full. Even the main angled bars where the tank sits should be of a heavier caliber.

Very disappointing.

In such a competitive industry, engineering and perhaps quality control/training would be my top priority. crazy how it is welded on a "T". I would have thought it would have been welding while resting on a L bracket.

I have a 2011 Cedar Creek 36RE and heard a loud popping sound when filling the fresh water tank last night. I haven't been able to inspect it yet, but I wasn't able to see anything hanging. I did see a tube that I have to assume is an overflow running for a bit. Everything else seems ok so far...

I have to admit though, I'm not very happy with the overall quality control of the Cedar Creeks. It's my first 5er, but I've been in others and Forest River is going to have to up their game considerably if I am ever going to buy another one. The main reason we ended up with this exact model is that my wife liked the layout. If it was up to me, I'd have a toy hauler with lots of diamond plate and other guy stuff.

It's also scary to see how much these tanks balloon when you fill them up. Why aren't they made out of stronger material or even metal tanks(stainless food grade)?
