Girard water heater vibration

We have a first generation Girard on demand hot water heater that we are pretty happy with overall. However this past summer it developed a very annoying vibration as soon as the burner shuts off and the fan is still running. I’ve done everything but take it out and reinstall. I can put pressure on it against the door and the vibration stops. I’ve tried with the door off and on and it’s till there. It’s interesting that it only starts as soon as the burner shuts off. If I couldn’t stop it by pressing on the box I would think it was a fan bushing but???
I should add that it’s mounted in a 28RKS Wildcat so it’s in the very back corner of the unit.
Anyone had this problem or could supply any insight. Thank you in advance!

Listen for the vibration as the fan shuts down if the vibration changes as the fan slows down then it's likely the sleeve bearing on the fan.

Call Girard and get the part number for the fan if you can replace it yourself. Good luck. Post your progress please.

I'll check that. I'm pretty sure the only variation is that the vibration starts as soon as the heat goes off and is just when cooling down that the vibration is there. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the expansion and contraction of the actual firebox. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you
