Green Algae in water tank

I have just returned from a 4 mo trip and I have a problem with my water tank
in the TT. When I use the water pump the screen gets clogged up with this green spinach looking stuff. I had sanitized the tank before I left and done it a
couple more times while I was traveling. I put a heavy load of bleach with about a half tank of water and let it slosh around for several days. I am now home and crawled under the TT and I can still see lots of green in the bottom of the plastic tank. Any suggestions on how to get this stuff out without dropping the tank? Anyone know of other chemicals to us besides bleach that is safe?

Rinse Rinse Rinse, Bleach is the best but open the low point dain on the tank and keep flushing until it is gone. The problem comes in the low point drain is sometimes on the side of the tank near the bottom.

Also tilt the RV toward the drain.

As a former pool owner, I can tell you that chlorine, on its own, will not always get rid of algae. I don’t know if there is an algicide treatment for drinking water systems, but I’d look into that.

Make sure that whatever treatment you use goes through every pipe and all non-waste water tanks.

And, like Oaklevel said, “Rinse, rinse, rinse”.
