Grey valve not fully closing

Gray tank valve will not fully close on 2017 Chaparral fifth wheel. It is a cable valve. Anyone know where to look to investigate? Do we have to remove the underbelly panels to get to this? Thanks in advance!

Something may be stuck - I suggest you fill the tank and alternately open and close the valve while draining to see if it comes loose.

It's fairly common for construction debris to be left in a tank. Sometimes
it can lodge in a valve. It might be the slug where they hole sawed the connection to the tank. I found a potato chip like thing stuck in mine that
I later decided was a splash of dried PVC glue. Luckily I was able to just
get my fingers up to the valve and fish it out.
IF your valve is up-stream and no way to reach it from the drain cap maybe
you can try a coat hanger. You might get lucky and knock what ever it
is out of there.

Good luck!

Grey Valve

My cable valve would not close all the way as well, I ignored it until it would not shut off at all. Replaced it, not that big a job and works great now.

Had same problem. Since was still under warranty took the 5er back to dealer. Culprit was glue. Who ever was on the assembly line just went crazy with the glue. 😕

On my Lexington I had the same problem. Took the knife valve off and found a half of shower drain plug that they drilled during manufacturing. Removed it. Works fine now. Now I'm waiting on the other half.

a 2017 should still be under warranty, let the dealer deal with it!

If the dealer is nearby, trustworthy and quick, by all means bring it back for warranty service.

Unfortunately already out of warranty- purchased unit last July. Plus dealer is 1 1/2 hrs away. Going to try filling and flushing first to see if something dislodges - if not will go from there. Thanks for everyone's responses!
