H2O heater

I tried several times to turn water heater on gas, grey wolf 26rl, and can't get it to light. Works on electric. Model sw6 de. Have no idea what push to reset buttons do and I've read operational book.

Have you purged the air out of the lines?
Does the stove or oven work?

There is also a 12v hi temp limit switch under the left rubber plug that might be tripped OR burned out.

When the water heater is trying to run on gas:

From outside with the cover down,

1) Can you hear the "snapping" of the ignitor
2) Can you smell gas?

Is the water already hot from the electric side? If water is hot heater will not start.

. Thanks. The stove n oven work. Not real sure how to purge air out system. The igniter does not pop nor do I smell gas.

No it doesn't snap nor do I smell gas.

Ok, your line has been purged so I suggest you try the other tips posted above.

Looking at it I do not see this switch. Nothing looks or smells burned.

X2 as I was thinking this may be the case as the thermostat wouldn't sense the need to heat.

Are you turning the water heater on using the water heater DSI switch below? If yes does it light up red? (DSI fault)
