Had same thing happen to me. Thought tank was full since I looked down the toilet and water looked like it was right there. Dumped tank and it still looked full. Since I was camping did not have anything like a snake but looked around and found a piece of 2x2. Pushed it down the toilet and that cleared the blockage. The pipe into the tank is Large so a snake could pass through and maybe not clear it but don't understand how you could pump out through toilet and not remove blockage. Sorry not much help.

Appreciate help. Pumper stick a pipe about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and apparently didn't unblock the problem. I am home now and will try anything

Are you saying it's filling up with "waste", or is it just water?

If it's water I'm thinking the water isn't stopping when you take your foot off the pedal. I.E. does it fill up by itself?

Disclaimer; I know next to nothing about this stuff, but you seem at wit's end so I'm just throwing thoughts out there.

It's not filling up black tank. Seems like the toilet itself gets full but not the tank

Maybe pictures would help if there is no waste in the toilet and you can use just water to show the problem.

I agree that if the toilet used to work fine and just started doing this that it can't be a hard problem to solve.

When you open flush toilet is full to that point. It appears that toilet is not draining into black tank

I had same problem on old 5th wheeler.
Take a flashlight and look into toilet while pushing flush pedal. Ill bet tp is clogged in the transition from toilet to pipe. Asnake will go thru but it just re clogs. Or take garden hose and wash out toilet from inside.

Agree with using the hose. Had a similar problem when we used a different tp brand. Dumping the black tank only cleared partially even with the tank flush system running. Had to use my black water rinsing hose (grey) through the window to flush out the blockage. Lots of high pressure water (using an on/off nozzle) from above the toilet may put enough water pressure to clear.

Do you have a clear elbow on the black tank valve to monitor the discharge. Dumping the black tank takes a lot of water and time to make sure you have not left solids to build up.

How long have you had the trailer? Has the black tank/toilet work OK in the past?

Ok after a bunch bs I got her done. This morning added some drain cleaner and boiling water no luck. Found some 3 wire well wire cut off about 6 feet and got to the blockage. Now have filled tank added some detergent and will flush out. When I am completed will add some baking soda to get ph to a better place. I did have a bit an offset from the toilet to the tank. We have had this rv for going 3 years and use it a lot about 3 weekends a month. I think adding more water per flush will help and recently we went on a trip withe 4 year old granddaughter. Hmmmm. Any way appreciate all the feed back. Bill. Cheers

Good job getting the clog removed.

It sounds like you removed the clog from the toilet down. I assume you haven't dumped yet? All that "Stuff" whatever it was is now in your tank. I would be prepared and use a tank flusher elbow when you dump just in case all that "stuff" clogs the dump valves on the way out.

dumped it today and there was some suspicious looking paper that was purple and not dissolved. May be the granddaughter...Also we had changed paper about a month ago and now have switched back. I might when I dumped there wasn't a lot of stuff since I had dumped before the big clog. Got home filled up tank with clean water and some laundry detergent and greased lightning. filled the tank completely full so if there is any other paper or whatever it will hopefully dissolve the stuff. Will drain in a couple of days and add water and chemicals. Again thanks to everyone!!!

x2

I have also been more thorough with my tank flushes this year. Bought a clear elbow with the tank flush - I like it better than the built-in flusher to be honest. If I'm camping where I don't have the luxury of hooking up a tank flusher, I fill a 5gal jug and use that for a quick flush.
