HELP PLEASE water pump runs continuously

Yesterday our water pump began running constantly. We have a 2012 XLR Thunderbolt 35x12 Toy Hauler. I turned the pump off so not to ruin it. Does anyone know what to do?

Do you have water in your fresh tank? Is there a faucet open? Do you see water coming out the bottom of your trailer anywhere? Is your winter bypass valve set correctly? Just a few things to check

Hw tank full and purged of air?
There's air in the lines .
Turn all faucets on one at a time to bleed out.

When we turn on the hot water it gurgles. Going to turn them all on as suggested to see if we can purge it. Odd though, we have had the pump on for a couple weeks now and had no issues. Only difference I can think of, is we finally used the shower and it was then that the pump decided to stay on.

Do you have water in your fresh water tank? If you were getting water and now you're not, you are either out of water, or you ran out of water and fried your pump.

Almost all pumps are designed to run dry
Without harm.

Don't believe what they tell you. I have 2 dead pumps that ran dry this summer that I can show you. My FW guage wasn't working, tank ran dry, and burnt 2 pumps up. Mine is so quiet, that they can barely be heard inside, and then you have to be up front and be dead quiet.

I have no doubt that you had an issue .
But from my personal experince I left my dw with camper for a day and a half with the pump running to no ill effects.
The paper work states "run dry pump".

Just my observation.

If the WH and lines are full and if water flows normally when a fawcet is opened, then it could be a pressure cutoff switch failure. We had one fail in a Shurflow pump before and it is end user servicable:

SHURflo Pump Head Replacement - $53.79

, but as you can see, the part is not that much less than the cost of a new pump, which was the path we took!

Well it ended up that we were low on water. Even though it kept saying we were down to 1/3 tank! Odd that it kept trying to pump water. Lesson learned! Thank you all for helping so quickly! This forum is such a peace of mind when you need help! Oh and this pump is super quiet too! If it hadn't been so quiet in here, I would never had heard it running!
