Holding tank repair

Abs tank repair is the stronger and easier than poly tanks. Take advantage of one caveat of your cheap tank by performing a repair that is stronger than original tank. Here the weakest part of the tank is coupler where it cements to the tank. Clean surfaces first. Use wax paper, abs cement, and fiberglass cloth. Lay out the paper and coat with cement. Then, add a layer of cloth. Put dauber in center of cloth and work out cement to edges. Add another layer of cloth, and repeat with cement. Don't do more than 2 layers at a time. Press paper onto surface and press out from center. Peel paper and use dauber to feather and smooth from center outward. Sand and repeat if necessary. Let dry for a day between applications. Very similar to fiberglass work.
