Hot water in lavatory and kitchen sinks, but only luke warm in the shower
I have a 2014 Georgetown 377XL that I put an on demand water heater in last season (Precision Temp RV-550). All worked well with real HOT water reaching all faucets. I took it in for some warranty work and the dealer kept it so long that they "winterized" it without my asking them to. Now I get "HOT" water in the kitchen and lavatory sinks but only luke warm water from the main shower. I have not tried the outside shower yet because that one was not winterized so it froze and split when I dewinterized (what a mess). Speaking to a plumber friend of mine he says there is a bleedover somewhere, but I cannot find anywhere that the hot and cold waterlines even get close (except on the waterheater bypass valves and I have looked). Anyone have any ideas how to correct this problem???

Plumber here... so with on demand water heaters, they turn on with a minimum water flow per minute. Check to make sure there’s no obstruction in the head slowing down the flow of water coming out which in return will lower the flow through the water heater not telling it to turn on all the way.
Good luck.

also check the outdoor shower to be turned fully off on the hot and cold sides as this can act as a mixing valve

Not clear what state your outside shower is in, but if the faucets are open and the shower head is turned off with the little button, you will be mixing hot water and cold and it can show up in your shower; just like having the bypass valve open on a normal Suburban or Atwood water heater.

The OP said he installed an on demand water heater so are we really sure how it is plumbed?

If you have a water manifold with individual shutoffs turn the hot and cold off to the outside shower and if this doesn't work turn off the cold water for the shower in the bathroom also.
If you have a single lever shower control it could be broken or popped an O-Ring internally.

++++++ with post #2. Happened to me. Turn off both valves to your outside shower. Do not rely on the trigger valve. Been there done that.

I've known guys in the Army (I was AF) who would consider a lukewarm shower a luxury.

Chris, thanks......... I have suffucient flow to get scalding hot water in the lavatory and kitchen sinks but not in the outside and indoor showers so I would not think it would be restricted flow out from the waterheater. If it did, then the waterheater would shut down.

Thanks for the response.....both showers are off. But since I cannot locate any other mixing valves, it has to be one of the showers. I have already replaced the indoor shower, I will replace the outside shower and see what happens......

5picker: i just put the on demand where the original dometic 10gal WH was using the same plumbing setup. Keeping the bypass in place. If the bypass was a problem I would think the problem would affect "all" faucets...

Cavie: Thanks. Since the problem only affects the showers (insider and outside) I plan on replacing the outside shower entirely. Already replaced the inside shower.

Vince and Charlette.......had plenty of cold "sea" showers ( using actual cold seawater....) so I actually like the lukewarm shower. My better half needs shower water hot enough to cook lobsters.

I have traced all the water lines as best as possible and cannot find an actual manifold anywhere. I have asked FR several times for an "as built" sketch/drawing and no one has been able to give me one so again I cannot be sure either way.

There is no manifold in an RV. I don't see a need to replace the outside shower. Just make sure both valves are turned OFF.

Weeks in the jungle even a monsoon rain would have been nice.
