Question Hot water tank question

New to owning a travel trailer,and unsure about whether or not we should empty hot water tank while travelling.

If you camp often, like we do, fill it up in the spring and drain it in the fall. Other than that it's your choice. No need to drain it while traveling.

Yep... I fill mine in March and drain it in mid-November. Some drain the heater after every trip but their water may not be as free of barnacles as mine.

I drain the tank between trips. It only take a couple of minutes as I have a thumb twist drain valve on my hot water heater. As for travelling, keep it full.

I shed all the extra weight I can. If I was camping without hookups I would probably leave it alone but any weight I can shed, I will.

The water in your water heater tank will be fine while traveling but if you do not plan to use it for a couple weeks, make sure to drain it. The water will get funky after a couple weeks.
