Hot Water Toggle switch is stuck
I have a 2015 Forrest River Blue Ridge 3025RL. The electric toggle switch on the hot water heater on the outside of the 5th wheel is stuck in the "ON" position. Any way to free it up so that I can toggle it to the "OFF" position? I don't want to force it and it stay in the "OFF" position, but I'm afraid that I will forget to put water in the heater before I hook it up and burn up the element. Thanks......

This actually happens a lot. You can easily go inside the RV and in the electrical panel, turn off the circuit breaker to the water heater. You can use this circuit breaker as an on/off switch till you replace the switch outside.

Yup. Those cheap switches melt a lot and lockup. Use the breaker inside like mentioned above, until you get a replacement.

If this is a Suburban and it's really a rocker switch and not a toggle switch, I bought a spare from Amazon. That means mine will never fail!

Did you try a little WD 40? I would before forcing it. That may free it up until you can get a new one. Good luck.

I wouldn't try this without making sure the power is off. Then let it dry and use a nonconductive contact cleaner afterwards.

My solution would be to leave it alone, use the Circuit Breaker and be done with that POS switch

Personally, I would not try WD-40 at all. When the switch fails it's because it got hot and melted internally.
You're messing with 120 volts AC on that switch. Would you try to free up a sticky house light switch with WD-40? If not, do not try it on the water heater either.
As someone else noted, for now just flip the breaker inside for the water heater. Not fuse, the breaker.

When our switch was stuck "on", it wasn't on. Wound up getting it replaced.

As mentioned, the switch sticks because it melts from not being able to carry the load of the electric element. It has nothing to do with needing lubricated or moisture displacement.
As was suggested early on , have a replacement ready and use the breaker until you get one. If you force it, you'll need to replace it right then or connect the wires together as it will be totally useless.

Mine did the same thing when it was pretty new. I bought the exact replacement from an RV dealer and it was doing the same thing. It will shut off. you won't hurt it. It just pops right out with a small screwdriver or butterknife or something like that if you want to replace it.
