How common are individual sewer hookups?
Coachmen Leprechaun 311FS, 2018.
New to RV-ing with one whole overnight trip on the log.
Our RV came with a Splendide washing machine/dryer installed. As I note from the warning placard, there's no holding tank for the washing machine gray water. You have to have an individual sewer hookup.
So, just how common are those individual hookups? Just how useful is this thing going to be? We're attracted to boondocking, Harvest Host sites, etc., not much attracted at all to large, busy campgrounds.

It won't be useful at all in your described camping settings. None of them are going to have sewer hookups.

Unless you are at a campground will full hook ups you will not be able to use it.
You would need a Y connector with your sewer hose going to the campground sewer line.

Sounds by your description it will not be used.

As others have said, you'll have to get a full hookups site to use the washer.
Neither boondocking nor Harvest Hosts are going to have that.

You might have to plan to have a couple of nights in a private campground to do your washing in that rig in order to have a sewer hookup.
You've got to do laundry sometime so stopping at a laundromat or using the laundry at a private campgrounds are your alternative.
If you're using a washing machine that has the dryer included, those can take a long time to do one load.

Those washers hold about one pair of jeans and a few socks!
I'd pull them out, sell them, and build a new closet in their space.

Give it time you may find it useful. You do not need the y connector as stated above there a 3 valves on the drivers side front one is for laundry/ washing machine. Top valve is black tank. And back one is for gray tank. There is a fourth valve behind the passenger side rear tires for the black tank as well. Keep this valve closed it Keeps the weight of black water out of the cross line while traveling, which could damage or break off especially on bad roads.

Strange notice! Not what we would want! Not common.
Ours is hooked up to a gray tank. We also have a way to balance our gray tanks. Also we could mix and balance the black and gray water. I prefer not to do that.
We often use our washer and dryer in electric only sites like state parks or COE parks.
It is a luxury to arrive home with no laundry to do. We pack less because of the washer dryer.

Ours drains into the galley tank but you really can’t use it without sewer hookups because your gray tank will fill up.

I was thinking the same thing. Just let it run on the ground. You can run a garden hose away from the trailer to be less conspicuous:

How common are individual sewer hookups?
I’m sure there’s a laundry facility near the camp site.
No need to flood the someone’s farm or brewery with grey water.

I guess that it depends on the campground. If you did that where we stay you would you would would either flood the road or the neighbors site Soon to be followed by an escort to the gate. Hooking to the campground sewer is the only proper answer.

Like others posted….
You want to use the onboard washer/dryer, you have to stay at full service campgrounds. Your choice for staying at simpler Boondocking locations is not geared up for your luxury item in an RV. MOST, I REPEAT, MOST RVs do not have washer dryers. They need full service hookups, cannot do the load capacity of your home machines, and take up valuable storage space in RVs.
Emptying your washer waste on the ground otherwise, is just wrong.
By the way, you’ll probably need lotsa electricity for the dryer too…..not usually found when Boondocking….. or unless you run your generator.

Flooding from a washing machine?!? How much water does that thing use?
Run a short hose into collection buckets then pour them into grey water tank. Internet search looks like 8 to 12 gallons per load. You could line up 3 5-gallon buckets with a drain hose that has a three-way splitter. Your washer drain hose could fit in one bucket, and the buckets stacked for storage. Would not be too hard to do at all.
Test it on your own land first - or out in the woods on public land. There are some Federal regulations regarding dumping grey water on the ground, and of course state laws all the way down to county ordinances.

Our washer piping doesn’t go directly into our tanks but it does pipe directly into the grey water discharge. So by adding a twist on valve we can back feed the washer grey water into the grey tanks.

As I remember the Splendia unit we have uses 15-20 gallons per load.
It holds a load about 60% as much as the home unit. It is a front loader. You load it differently than a top loader. If you did not own one you would not know.
We have 80 gallons of gray water capacity. That and I can connect to the black tank. So as I remember we can hold 120 gallons. We use that $20 quick connect valve in place of the cap.
We typically use remaining capacity at no sewer campsites often! Two loads typically. We have a 40 gallon blue boy tank if necessary to dump. Only used it once. Or rv is set up to work for a week for a couple. Good design.
Draining to the ground is not commonly allowed. The word is illegal. Big fine. There are places you are allowed. We have never been in one. I ask!
Some Ohio parks have water dump areas in parks for tent campers gray water. Set up to pour water into from a bucket. You cannot carry more than 5 gallons typically. Too heavy.

Am I right to assume that full hookup with sewer is a feature found only at large commercial sites? Not normally found in smaller campgrounds, state parks, etc.?

We have lots of full hookup sites in Oregon State Parks. A lot of our county parks, also.

No not always. Many small campgrounds have full hook ups.
