How do I contact Forest River?

Hi folks, just bought a very nice 832IKBS and love it.
It had some leaks, dropped it off to be repaired.
I also told them to cut three inches off of the panel that accesses the water heater in order to open and close the three valves in order to winterize. It was two inches below the bottom of the counter. A child couldn't access the valves. I was charged $36.01 because it wasn't considered warranty work!
Would love to get that money back!

Is it worth the frustration to get the money back? Sometimes just paying the money to get the work done is worth it.
When I bought my FR, the person that installed the stabilizing jacks must have had the impact driver set on max torque because several of the bolts were broken off. I Just repaired it myself and did not worry about warranty repair.

They have a "contact us" feature on their website. You will then select your make/model etc to get the correct contact info.

Forest River RV Contact Us - Forest River, Inc.

Frustrating

In September I contacted Warranty dept about remote on fireplace not working. No big deal . Was told they have to send whole new FIREPLACE . Then lavatory sink developed leak. After many phone calls , e mails w pics they finally sent Totaly WRONG faucet. Now it s January still waiting for fireplace and correct faucet 😡😤. Wouldn't be so frustrating if communication on their part wasn' t almost non existent.

Ronrox18, FR has a lot of brands and factories. Your profile and signature donít indicate what brand and model you have. If you can post that, others with that brand may be able to get you a contact name who can help expedite.

No, Camping World did it along with warranty work.
The water heater was inaccessible the way the panel was put in!
I don't think I should have to pay to get it accessible!

Actually, it is the principle of it.
It should have been cut to where it was accessible from the factory.
I actually cut my arm trying to access the water heater.

Your signature says you have a "2006 Flagstaff 831RLSS Travel Trailer". Your OP says you have a 832IKB. Is that also a Flagstaff? If so, it seems like you should contact Flagstaff warranty and not the parent company, Forest River.

Many of us have to remove something, a panel or a drawer or something to access water heater valves. I'd be surprised if anyone gives you anything in return for this little job.

I would not bet on them reimbursing you. Not warranty work. Later RJD

Please do not take offense to this but.................

Sorry that you cut your arm, but this should not be a warranty issue. I really do not understand how you think that it would be.

Good Luck, I hope that they cover it. If they do cover it I would say they are going above and beyond what they need to.

You have access by removing the panel . to modify it that's your cost not warranty .

Folks, the panel was stapled to the door frame under the sink. If it would have been easy to take that panel off, i would have done it. If it had enough room to stick my arm in, there would be no issue!
It was not as easy as removing a panel as in the 2006, there was no reasonable access!

I have a 2014 Flagstaff 832IKBS, the first thing I did was remove the panel and store it under the bed. There is actually no need for the panel and with the furnace under the water heater the air flow is enhanced when you need to keep the plumbing warm. Another benefit is having full access to the bypass valves.

There is only 4 screws holding the panel to the floor and back side of the cabinet door frame.

You bought a used 2006 TT that has probably been winterized all these years. How is it that someone along the way hasnít modded it to make access to the back of the WH easier? Is this your Flagstaff 831IKBS?

It looks like the WH is behind the raised panel to the left of the refrigerator - the panel 2nd from the floor with no knob. Did you have them cut that panel? In most cases, the factory installs 2 hinges on one side and a single hinge on the other side so you just need to remove 2 screws from the single hinge to open the panel and access whatever is behind it.

jackhartjr please let us know the make year and model of your R/V. It seems there is some confusion about that.

I'm sorry you were not able to access the bypass valves with the limitations of the panel. Unfortunately, FR believes this space should be adequate. For it to be modified would be something you'll need to pay for.

Again, unfortunately, Camping World charged you way too much for a simple 3 minute job with a utility knife. A reputable dealer that you just purchased a R/V from should have taken care of that simple task at no charge to you simply for the purpose of good customer relations.

My anger would be with them.
Best of luck with Camping World, they have a very poor reputation in R/V forum land and your story is just another dagger in their heart.
