How do you treat your gray water tank?
To keep odors down I use a bleach mixture to treat the gray water.
At the end of our last trip I found the lid on the bleach bottle cracked and leaking and the bottle with the bleach mixture had split. Neither were completely full, and they weren't exposed to temperature extremes.
Both were in a plastic tub so I didn't have a spill, but I don't want any leaking bleach anywhere in a storage cabinet due to the fact that it's corrosive to metal.
I let the cabinet dry out and all is well, but now I'm thinking I should either use another method or find a better container to keep bleach in that is able to take all of the sloshing around.
How do you treat your gray water?

Depends... we sometimes use the Geo method which is 2 cups calgon water softener and 1 cup dawn dishwashing detergent in a gallon of water.
Then we sometimes get a commercial treatment (usually in tablet form). We tend to buy enviromentally friendly products.
Using bleach on a regular basis is something many advise against because of it's affect on seals.

We usually just use the same stuff we use in the black tank. And if sensors are gunked up, we put in a cup or so of Dawn in at least a half tank before heading down the road.

Very rarely do we have grey tank odor, but if we do we use the same thing we use in the black tank:

We never use bleach. Bleach is overused these days, to the point that many strains of bacteria have become resistant to chlorine. Dumping massive amounts of bleach into a septic system, commercial holding tanks which eventually reach a sewage treatment plant is not a good thing.

Same here - we add Happy Camper anytime we notice an odor from the gray tank (once every month or two).
Others mention using Dawn, but we wash our dishes with Dawn, so we see no need to add any extra.

Grey Water
We don't treat the grey water. But we do add some of that blue stuff to the black tank system.

I drain and flush the black water tank, then drain the grey water tank. I then mix up 3 scoops of Oxy clean and 2 ounces of Dawn original dish soap dissolved in one gallon of water poured into the kitchen, bathroom and shower drains. I let it sit there for about and hour, then flush it down with about another two gallons of water. I do the same with the black water tank. No odors!

Nothing to treat the gray tank but some harsh language when the sensor reads wrong

We are in the never treat the gray water tank group. Returning from a trip, we will add 3 gallons of water to the tank and a couple of ounces of dish soap and let it slosh around on the trip home.

Grey tanks
What am I missing here? if I put soap (dawn, etc.) in the tank and drive aren’t I gonna get bubbles filling the tank??? Or is that the idea? I just have this vision of going down the highway with a trail of bubbles 🫧

Won't the suds be contained within the tank? Maybe washing crud off the fill sensors?

X2 on the Happy Camper. We started using this stuff last year, after seeing it recommended on this forum and YouTube, in both tanks. Really haven't noticed an odor problem since.

Odorlos in the black tank and maybe but rarely in the grey. Sink stoppers go in all drains on the road so there's nothing to smell.

I like this for the grey and galley waste tanks. Not so much concerned with the grey, shower and bath sink because of soap and shampoos. Still use the packets in the black tank. The TST liquid is ideal for ease of getting into the grey or galley.
