How to attach toilet paper holder? No solid supports behind wall?

Our new Forester 2501 came with the toilet paper holder in a box. At walk through the man said that's so you can attach wherever you want. We can't figure out where to put it where it won't rip out if the wall. In a house we'd look for studs or use a molly. The bronze screws wound work with mollys anyhow. Any suggestions?

We use a stand alone toilet paper holder that sits next to the toilet and of course it matches the toilet paper holder! We don't leave it there were we are on the road. My better half has a place to put everything. I would not want to go thru the wall. Good Luck

My Forester 2401W came with the same holder. I used screws in the kit to fasten it on the sidewall next the toilet. The sidewall consists of a ~1/2 inch wood board inside of aluminum frame and the screws are less than 1/2 inch so it's safe to use. It works well for me.

We just have an over-the-door hook hanging on the door to the vanity.

We too use a free standing type. found one at Wally World.

I used the screws provided but before attaching to my vanity I used extra strong 3m tape. Screwing there the tape and vanity. The tape helps the screws hold and keeps the object in place. Did same with paper towel holder in kitchen cabinet. Nothing's fallen yet and my grand kids have week empty over - yanking and pulling.

our last TT (an avenger, literally did not have anywhere that we could hang one or stand one without it being in the way, so we just kept it under the sink, and it was handy there because it was at an angle beside the toilet.

We decided NOT to make unnecessary holes in the walls. I hung a bag holder from the rod over the toilet. Squeeze a TP roll and it slides through the top easily. At least 3-4 rolls hang this way. I try to put rolls in this bag with have a few sheets removed because they are easier to get out through the bottom.

I leave one roll out, on top of a plastic coffee can, which we use as a paper wastebasket (with a liner). This goes into the shower during travels.

Since the toilet roughly faces the vanity and the wall is curved, so no way to really attach to that, I glued about a 6" piece of 1x4 (3/4 x 3 1/2) pine to the inside of the vanity door panel using Gorilla glue and then screwed the holder to that. Works well and totally hidden out of the way when not needed.

Our new 2008 Shamrock 183 came with neither toilet roll holder nor towel holder attached. At the time I figured if the factory was afraid to attach them then so was I. Use a free standing holder (its a resin bear so it goes with all the other bear stuff my wife put in the camper). For towels, we bought an over the door holder. Both work well and we just transferred both to our new Shamrock 231KSS.

Do you have a shower enclosure? Mounted ours on the side of the shower.

Unless you get violent when taking paper off of the roll it shouldn't matter. Ours has been screwed into the wall board for three years and is still solid.

Good luck with this. Our Salem Ultra-lite came with one on the wall directly in front of the toilet. First time we put a roll on it, everything fell to the floor! The screws weren't fastened to anything behind the paper thin paneling. We put the roll inside the vanity and use that.

I used short bolts with fender washers on the inside of the vanity. Has worked very well so far.

I mounted ours to the bathroom door. Working good there.

On our 2501, ours is hanging on a thin rope from the shower enclosure top rail. Swing it out when we are using it, swing it in and close the door for travel. Looks a little redneck, but hey. JH
