I'm becoming a paranoid leakaholic

I've only been a site member for a few months but have been seriously watching the various forums in order to learn from others. The wife and I will soon be heading from Western NY to Central Florida in our spanking new 2020-1/2 37FLH. We formerly had a old 38' motorhome and experienced a rogue water leak that only became evident when the water started showing up in the basement. I've read of leaks in other "brand new" 5th wheels and know that it is a real threat given the quick out-the-door builds, things rattling apart, etc. So it almost seems like you can't detect a leak from any of the waste tanks, or enclosed water lines until it's really advanced to where you spot it in a storage compartment or its dripping out of the underbelly. Am I right? If that's true does anyone insert water leak detectors in the lowest membrane (the one that you see when you look at the underbelly) ? I can't think of two many worst things than water damage / mold. I'm old but wary, lol. Thanks-John

I just drill a few strategically placed holes in the membrane (aka underbelly) and then check the ground under those spots for water.
