Keeping Freshwater Tank Clean

Ok so I've read the instructions on sanitizing a freshwater tank, used bleach the last 2 years seems to work fine.
We dry camped most of last summer due to covid, so I kept filling the tanks with water from my well at home, no chlorination or anything.
Should I worry about adding anything or cleaning the tank part way through the year? Didn't notice any issues, but can see how there could be some.

Typically sanitizing it at the beginning of the season should be good enough.

If you well water is good there should be no reason your potable water tank is not safe. the problem I have seen with well water is the sand from the well if you are to filtering the water going into the tank. At my ranch I get fine volcanic grit from the well so I filter all water to the rig or pressure washer but not to other uses. Just what I do

I feel good well water is gar healthier then city water with all the chemicals in it.

If your water is good and you use the most of it before replenishing then you should have no worries.

If you'd like to add some peace of mind, add a few drops of bleach as you refill the tank or use any of the R/V water treatments sold almost everywhere they sell R/V stuff.

That, and keeping "fresh water" flowing through it regularly during the camping season.

Using good filtered well water, and with 2 kids using a bunch. 10+ gallons a week. As long as we keep running through it sounds like we should be good. Thanks!

Sometimes there are issues with well water and hot water heaters. The minerals in the water can react to the anode rod if your water heater has one. The trick it seems is to not let the water sit in the water heater between trips.
