Kitchen faucet

We just purchased an Apex camper and having issues with kitchen faucet. While transporting it turns on. Luckily we caught it before it was a disaster (we had left the water pump on which we will now turn off ). Any suggestions how to keep the handle from moving open?

We put one of these around it to hold the handle shut while in transit.

1st choice: Turn pump off. No need for it to be on.
2nd choice: Rubber band.

We have a very similar kitchen faucet that opens during transport. I have some really small bungee type cords and put one around the handle to spout. I leave it by the faucet so I remember to attach it before the next leg.
