The sensors are metal, just like older homes plumbing (and probably steel, not copper). Besides, they don't work most of the time anyway, so I'm not sure I'd worry about them.
Only "non-house-type" seal I know of is the one in the sewer drain valve. By the time it gets there, I'm guessing it's been pretty well diluted. But....?
I'm not necessarily advocating the use of Draino; I just hate furthering potentially mythical advice. If someone can provide a true example about messing something up with Draino and not simply repeating someone else's myth, I might change my mind.
So I'm just saying I'm skeptical of the myth. Just like putting batteries on concrete. It WAS true years ago but isn't anymore, yet it turns up on this forum several times a year. I know this one's incorrect these days because I put both my RV and lawn tractor batteries on the concrete floor all winter with not issues.
