Kitchen Sink to Black Tank?

We bought a 2016 Sabre Lite 25RL a few months ago. Is the kitchen sink supposed to go into the black tank? I thought it would go into the gray but is doesn't. Anyone else have that hookup? How do I find out if it's supposed to be like that or if it was a mistake at the factory setup?

I had a Class A MH that had that arrangement, but my current TT does not.

I wish one of my sinks, preferably the bath sink, drained to the black tank. My tanks are of equal size and my gray tank will fill two to three times faster than my black tank.

Are you sure your galley tank valve isn't open (if you have a 3 valve setup?)

(I don't know what a 3 valve set up is)? Forest River replied to an email I sent them, they said it is piped to the black tank on that model

What I meant was ,some RVs, like mine, have a separate valve to open and drain each tank. I have galley, gray and black tanks. Some RVs are plumbed like yours and have two valves.

The sensors were wrong on the gray tank, shows full at 20 gallons...
We are still waiting to hear from FR about the incorrect black tank size. it should have a 42 gallon but it only has a 30 gal

I bought the Sabre 25RL last year and have always thought the black tank was filling up more than it should be, we try to use the toilet as little as possible. We just went to Montana for a week and we ran out of water and my wife said the kitchen sink was smelling bad the last couple times she washed dishes so I checked the monitor and the black tank was full and the grey tank had very little in it. I emailed the factory and the reply I got back was that if I think there is an issue I should take it to a dealer. That is a very poor set up if it is supposed to be plumbed that way and the factory should be able to tell me if that is the way it was plumbed and why! I don't want to pay to have it replumbed or to even have it looked at. The other thing I would like to know is this a health hazard having it connected to the kitchen sink. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated...

Eventually the factory told us that year they did have the black tank and the kitchen sink together. We traded it in a few months later. I thought it was very unhealthy to have the black water coming up thru the sink if there was ever an over flow because of sensors not working.

dcr, thank you so much for getting back to me. That is just a very poor design, especially if the toilet is upstairs. The overflow will come up through the kitchen sink first. Technically with a 42 gal black tank and a 31 gal fresh you would run out of water first but we dry camp and carry extra water so we will have to wash dishes outside instead of in the sink. We really like the trailer and is a great size for me and my wife but I'll have to decide if I want to replumb or what we want to do. Did they ever tell you why it was plumbed like that? Thanks again for you reply, much appreciated!

I agree, it is a very poor design, They didn't tell me why they decided to plumb it that way.
We really liked the camper too but ours had some other things wrong and it was best to get rid of it because Forest River didn't want to do anything to fix it.

The entire frame and all metal parts underneath were completely rusted. In another year the slides would not be able to open. The steps were rusted closed and almost impossible to open when needed. This was our first camper so we didn't know what to look for when we were buying it.
The awning blew a fuse every time we opened and closed it and the antenna control knob was in the tallest part of the camper, very very hard to reach. Also the tanks were labeled wrong, black was gray, gray was black!
The design was nice, a perfect size but too many headaches for us!
