Leak behind shower faucet
Hello travelers and Happy New Year.
In our shower, the hot water supply line is leaking at its connection to the faucet, right into the basement.
Of the two threaded connections (one from the PEX tube to the “90” and the other, from the “90” to the faucet; it’s leaking where the “90” attaches to to the back of the hot water tap.
The only access is the little removable port culver (see attached pic). Needless to say, it’s quite impossible to get one’s hand in that space, let alone a tool.
What if, God forbid, one wished to replace the entire assembly and not just stop a leak? Clearly these things are plumbed before the walls go up.
I humbly turn to those who have gone before me. Surely this can’t be a “unique leak”.
Please help! TIA
