Leaking from WH Pressure Relief valve on 110v only

Atwood water heater is leaking from the pressure relief valve, but only when using the 110v for heating. Doesn't leak on gas mode. I tried opening and closing the PR valve but it still leaks. This is only tank water, not City water hooked up. Any ideas?

this is a WAG but could the thermostat for the electric side of things be set to high causing the slight over pressurization

Not abnormal. If you cant get it to seat, there are two possabilities. Defective 120 side thermostat or defective relief valve. Since it only seems to happen in the 120 side, replace the temp sensor.

BTW, I made sure I had an air pocket in the tank. I am not sure if there is an adjustment on the 110v side of the Atwood water heater. I know it heats way up there to maybe 150 degrees.

Owners manual has a section devoted to this. It's toward the back of the Atwood manual.
