Leaking toilet supply hose
Hi all,
Just noticed the supply hose to my Dometic toilet is leaking. This is new as we just returned home from camping with no issues. It only leaks under pressure (i,e., with the water pump on). As far as I can tell, it's due to the Oetiker clamp (ear clamp) coming loose. Does anyone know if these can be tightened further? I don't have the specific tool, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Or should I try to cut it off and put on a new clamp? As you probably know, it's pretty tight trying to get in there and everything is plastic!

I'd say for a temp repair, cut the bad clamp off and put a hose clamp on it. This could also be the permanent fix too.
I don't think you could tighten the existing clamp.
When you take the clamp off inspect the hose as it may have a cut/hole in it.
Good Luck!

I 2nd cboss' recommendation.
Cut the clamp off and use a worm type hose clamp
Unfortunately, those PEX style clamps on braided hose and plastic fitting are hit or miss.
Those clamps do better with brass fittings when using braided hose but the factory is all about saving money.

Looks like the clamp installed is one size too large. I do think you will be able to tighten it.

Looks to me like the crimp tab ears are touching.
I don't believe it can be tightened.

^^^X2^^^
And I'm fairly certain the clamp is the correct size. A smaller size, if it would fit, might crush the fitting when crimped

Wanted to suggest for others searching that fuel injection type hose clamps are a good solution to these hose connections.
I’ve had a slow leak in my shower valve pipe, and it would have been extremely difficult to get a good PEX clamp seal. But got a box of various sized fuel injection clamps at Harbor Freight Tools (you can also get them on Amazon), used the smallest one around the hose (didn’t cut hose because it’s already short, and tightened it as far as I could. No more leak!
