Just bought mine on Amazon yesterday. It was due on the 8th. Arrived today. I was so excited I installed it this afternoon. Took about 30 min. Most of my time was spent on loosening and tightening the nut under the pedal. I did not have a 5/8" wrench and my sockets were either too tall or too short. I had to use an adjustable wrench. I was only able to turn it about 1/8th of a turn at a time.

My daughter gave it a test run when I was done. 2 thumbs up!

Based on correspondence here, different callers get different responses.

Call the dealer where you bought it. That was Dometic's response to me after a 1 hour wait on hold. I did that and got a new toilet within a week. That will depend on your selling dealer's response, too, but they should assist you with a replacement. It's clearly a warranty issue if you're the original owner and it's less than 2 years old.

With respect to returning the original product (yuck) I was asked to peel the sticker off the back and return it to the dealer. My dealer (RV Wholesalers) actually bought it from Amazon or Walmart and had it shipped directly to me. They didn't have white in stock. I didn't care, and got beige.

Installation manual/warranty:
...
1E: For Original Purchaser (ONLY) to obtain the benefits of this Warranty during the 2-year period (for personal use) or 90-day period (for commercial use), the following shall apply:
(a) Original Purchaser shall contact the local dealer from whom the product was purchased; or contact the Seller Customer Service Department at 1-800-321-9886 (8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET, USA) and provide the local dealer or Seller Customer Service Department with sales receipt or invoice, product model and serial number from product. The product model identification label is located on the toilet base under the foot pedal and water valve (see illustration).
(b) If product, while still under warranty, is returned to local dealer where purchased, the local dealer will repair, replace or refund the product per
this Warranty and as authorized by the Seller. Seller will provide necessary replacement parts or product free of charge to Original Purchaser, including freight on such replacement parts or product, and Seller will pay direct labor charges for such repair or replacement.
(c) Under no circumstances will Seller pay or be liable for any of Original Purchaser’s or dealer’s travel charges or other expenses associated with bringing the product or recreation vehicle to the dealer for repair, for providing dealer with access to the product or vehicle, or for downtime of the product or vehicle.
(d) Original Purchaser may be required to return defective product or parts when requested by Seller; in such event, Seller will pay related freight costs.

2018, but we are the second owner. However, they did not know that during the call. Oh well. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.

Its $200 on Amazon for a 310. I tried the warranty route and it ended up not being worth my time to save the money.

If outside warranty, that's the best alternative and, considering the smell, is an emergency purchase.

I'm having the same issue with my Dometic toilet. Purchased in FR Vibe 26bh in July 2020 and used for about 15 nights. I contacted Diane from one of the previous posts and she forwarded it to Customer support in Indiana. She obviously isn't dealing with it anymore which tells you its a big problem.
Basically, if it's under warranty the dealer will have to handle it. The customer service representative said it needs to be installed by dealer techs. They will not ship direct to me or upgrade for the difference in cost contrary to a lot of posts on these forums.
I guess each experience will vary based on your dealer. Sounds like RV Wholesalers is pretty good to work with. My dealer is telling me it will be January at the earliest...

Assuming the 320 fits, is it a better unit, or just different with the elongated bowl?

Here's a comparison of the 300 series. One thing to note is the weight difference. Having never seen one, I can't comment further.

We love our 320. I purchased a no-slam elongated seat from Lowes. Now I do not need to worry about closing the lid before driving down the road. I used to hear a loud crash when it would slam shut.

Water sprays out all around the rim of the 320.

I can not speak about the 310.

The 310 is the same but with a round, rather than elongated, bowl.

It also has a slow-close wooden seat as standard.

The 300 is a round plastic bowl on a plastic base, the 310 has a oval china bowl on a plastic base, the 320 is an elongated china bowl on a plastic base. Many times the 320 will not be a drop in fit to the 300 as the mounting holes are different by an inch. The 310 mounting holes are 1/2 inch different than the 300.

I thought they were plug and play, mounted identical.

I agree, I thought most said the 310 was a direct replacement to the 300. Only the 320 needed some mod...is it just the mounting that's different or the drain, too? If its the mounting how is that changing on an RV similar to a house one with a different hold down ring?

My 300 had a gap of about 1" between the back of the hinge and the wall behind it. The 310 is snug against the wall.

I did not have to change the mount out. I did have to elongate the slots the bolts mounted in to get a better angle so the lid would stay up. It added an extra 5 minutes to the project.

No, not bad at all for me, and I didn't have to change the mounting. Others may not have the same experience, depending on how their 300 is mounted.

My point was they're not exact replacements.

I had a 300. Had room and installed a 320. Bolts are same width apart as is the hole but you need more room at the back and front and the lid is not a slow close.

From videos I have seen on the 310 it adds more water when flushing compared to my 320 but my sprayer works great...i think something is partially blocking the flow because I dont get enough water to flush a piece of paper...its great when using the tanks though.
