I thought my Rhino hose wasn't going to fit until I rotated the ends slightly.

Here is my Rhino in a 4" bumper:

My Rhinos were tight in the 4" bumper then I realized just rotate the head until the knobs fit into the opening. I took a file and filed all four each of the ends to help it go in quicker. I keep two hoses in the bumper. Cap the end going in, hook them together and leave the cap off the other end so air can escape as the accordion hose collapses on it self. Then cap it at the end. It will always be right at the opening when you open the bumper end cap. No surprise slinky snake jumping out at you, no shy turtle back up in the bumper hiding either. I like Rhino and others that have the ability to remove the fittings to shorten a hose or cut out a bad section and quickly screw it back together. A real plus when someone happens to drive across a hose and crush it.

I've got two of the 'dealer startup freebie' hoses sitting in the garage you can have if you really want a short hose. Bayonets on one end, open on the other, and it's only about 3-4' long stretched out. Kind of looks like one of these:

Never been used, cause I just didn't trust them. Only ever used my Rhino, even at dump stations.

Stinky Slinky Rule #1... no matter which hose brand or type you like to use... ALWAYS check the end attach point fittings each time you take it out.
Or else the "When will it happen" in the movie "RV" movie during the sewer explosion dump scene. I saw it happen once to a guy. Wasn't pretty, but I ran up to him and grabbed a hose and told him to keep his eyes closed while I gave him the spray!

We just watched 'RV' again last night for the umpteenth time...

Nothing on TV, so grabbed that one out of the DVD cabinet.

Funny thing is, haven't watched that movie since we got the RV!

I tried that on both my previous TT and my current 5'ver...neither worked without a major hassle.

However, it could be because of the aftermarket hinged bumper covers that I had and have on both of those RV's.

Would never give up my hinged bumper covers to store hoses in.

Got mine at Camping World, although, since they are a very cool item, CW no longer carries them!

However, I did have some of those cheap brown Camco hoses that fit perfectly in there...recently pitched them after five years as they started leaking.

Might buy another set of those instead of more Rhino hose just so that I can keep them in the bumper for backup!

I use those hoses at the dump station at Provincial Parks. Works like a charm. I save my Rhino for full hook-ups I see maybe once a year.

Do those fit around the outside of the bumper?

Yes...

The mounting screw that comes with the bumper covers just tightens against the outside of the bumper...but typically falls out after a few miles.

After I lost one of the covers from the first set, I ended up replacing it with a real screw that required drilling a hole in the bumper, and is probably the culprit of the hose not fitting inside the bumper.

Still...I love these things and would never have an RV with a bumper without these caps!

Especially after having lost every standard bumper cap that was in my rear bumper whenever it was at the dealership for anything (they claimed that they weren't responsible for anything lost, and my caps always came up missing while there ).

Can't claim that when they are permanently attached!

Uh........uh........

I do NOT want a Rhino. I said that. I'm glad you guys have one and it works. I don't want one. I have had bad Rhino hoses, and they are cheaper made. That's an opinion.

I do NOT HAVE A BUMPER. I do have two Sani-tubes, both full of LONG Valterra hoses. They work great, just too long for SOME locations (just like I have a long 50a cord, but also have a short one).

I see the 5 foot one, that is great. I also think the 2 footers put together would work. One of those two ideas will work for what I want. I have a 6" square pvc fence post I keep the adapters in, and it might be long enough to add these smaller hoses too.

Thanks for the responses.

You're 30+ posts into your original question, it by now has nothing to do with the discussion.

Buy a big one and cut it down to 5ft and then you have a spare one for when that goes bad

Thanks for mentioning it, but did you look at the reviews? The critical reviews are quite credible. Seals that fall out when the package is opened. Leaks (multiple) on first use.

I would be wary of this purchase.

I think the bigger problem is that it has Bayonet Hooks on both ends.

If you have a 4x4 rear bumper Rhinoflex will fit. All you have to do is index the bayonet couplers so they fit into the corners. I have collapsed 15' on one side, and a collapsed 10' on the other. TIP: Index them when they are new!

Depends...

That depends on your planned usage. I use a hose like that to go from the permanently sited 2007 Cherokee 38P to the Blueboy (although the 2-foot version would be more than enough).

I use a second hose (which should get negative stars in review) to go from the Blueboy to the dump station. That hose has bayonet hooks on one end and an elbow to 2",3", and 4" male IP thread on the other.

I made a 4-5' hose for both those close dump-stations(sometimes you can dump straight down! nice).. and for the very seldom use of our tote-buddy. Cut the length you want - the fittings are pretty easy, especially the ones with the 'thumb screw' type connectors.
