Low point drains

Finally located the low point drains under the TT. Opened and drained about a thimble full of water. Got me thinking though: what are they for and where did the water come from? Why didn't I have much drainage?

Did you open cold and hot faucets in trailer?

Yes, used the water pump to force antifreeze through all lines until all faucets ... toilet too ...ran pink. Poured some invp traps also.

I would make sure some pink stuff runs out of low point drains. That is suppose to be the lowest point of your water lines. Dont forget to drain your water heater.
Folk, dont forget your washer lines if so equiped.

By-pass water heater and drained it by removing anode rod...

Yes. Bypass WH by manually closing inlet and outlet valves and opening the bypass valve. Some unit have a bypass in the water hookup area. to drain the WH just unscrew drain plug. I loosely reinstall mine after draining.
You can also get a plug with a petcock? similar to a car radiator to go back.

If you have a Suburban WH you will need a 1-1/16 inch socket, a 6 inch extension and a ratchet to remove the drain plug. The anode rod will be mounted on the plug. Wrap a piece of paper towel around the plug before putting it in the socket to help putting the plug back in.
