Question...

Why not just blow the lines out, pull the anode rod and leave all faucets open for the winter? Would save you alot of aggravation and money on antifreeze as you would use less. Thats all I've ever done for 20yrs. I use 1 gallon of antifreeze by putting some in each of the drains and some in fresh water tank so I can get antifreeze in the pump.

I know this doesn't help with the water filter situation but it's a start.
