Funny thing, I grew up on a farm and shoveled cow, horse, pig, chicken, sheep, and of course dog poop. When I got married and had kids I just couldn't handle diapers. Go figure.

Just had my black tank clog up, dam kids. Black tank flush no help, toilet wand no help. Dam paper bunched up by valve. After many attempts with a hose shoved up backwards she broke free. Got a good dumping before i could get the slinky hooked back up.

An attachment like this would allow you to put back pressure on the jam. Obviously you don't want to backfill too much. Of course, the jam could act like a valve, allowing back fill but stopping shut again once you tried to drain it.

Or the reverse approach

At our campground, all sites have water and electricity but no sewer. So folks take the reverse approach. We generally wear nothing but a pair of flip-flops. If something spills on us, we just hose it off at the dump station.

Where my slinky connect the black valve is 3ft back. I did buy that with a idea of modifying it to receive a snake

The pop up indicator works fine for me. But when it's full, the thing is very heavy.

I bought a Tetford tank and a Camco rack for the back bumper.

Exactly! I really don't understand all the fuss over dumping the tank. I dump the tank while hubby adjusts the WDH. Ocasionally I get a little splashback on my hands....it's really no different then changing a diaper or wiping your own butt after doing your business. I keep hand sanitizer in the side pocket of the tow vehicle and that is the last thing I do before getting back in the truck. It's really no big deal.

Those cars have a black tank?
I was in line at a dump station in Quartzsite, AZ, waiting my turn to dump. Behind me pulled up a small car, probably a Mini (BMW) that was used as a TOAD, and it patiently waited its turn behind me. Once I finished my task, I pulled away and saw the Mini was towing -- (wait for it... wait for it...)
a blue tank!
So 60 gallons of you-know-what can be dealt with, if you have a TOAD.

A really bright flashlight on the other side of the tank to see level.
Try with clean water first.
If you have kids, let them try it first. Offer ice cream!

New camper scared of the black tank
When our camper was new we were at the campsite for a week. We had a couple with their daughter stay with us for the last three days, then the last day we had more family and friends visit us. When the toilet started belching you could say the " camper was scared of the black tank".

I used a 45 gallon one when I was living in my RV.. didn't have the pop up warning.. I just did it on a weekly basis as part of the "chores".. it had a nice little attachment that you could tow it behind a quad.. or behind a Mini as noted above, though i'm pretty sure the wheels on them aren't meant for that kind of speed... I'd just do it on a weekly basis.. as part of a routine.. **** gets heavy!!!
