no hot water

On my sunseeker 3170 the propane side of the water heater stopped working the igniter works and I get a flame but then it goes out when the igniter stops and does that 3 times before lockout then I have to flip switch and it will do the same until it locks out again. I understand the lockout safety feature but don't know what is causing it to go out. This is a suburban model sw6de and it works on electric .The stove and furnace work so I do not think it is a propane problem
and I also cleaned out the orifice and tube but could see no blockage so now I am looking for ideas on what else to check .
