No hot water in sinks

First time out in new forester classic, 3041DS, we have hot and cold water in outside and inside showers. We only have cold water in kitchen and bathroom sinks. Anyone have any suggestions what to check or look for?

Do you have cold water coming out of the sink hot water taps or no water at all?

If the aerators were the problem, the problem would exist on both the hot and cold sides.

We need to know if the OP has water flowing out of the hot side, but it isn’t hot, or if there is no water at all flowing from the hot side.

Do you have an outside shower? If so make sure the handles are turned off. Normally if they are on it will cause warm water in all fixtures, but strange things can happen.

Your hot water bypass is probably the cause

Indoor and Outdoor showers have Hot and Cold water. Bypass wouldn't allow any Hot water anywhere.

Troubleshooting tips

Do these things:

1. Is there water in your hot water heater? Easiest way is to trip the over temp/over pressure valve on the heater and see if water comes out with the pump/city water enabled.

2. Water comes out? If yes, then the heater is full of water. If not, then check your bypass valves on the heater - likely in winter mode. Correct valves

3. Does water come out of the faucets on the hot water side when open? If so, then look at the heater not working. If not, then you have a bypass valve set so no hot water can flow - recheck bypass valves.

4. OK, water heater tank is full and you get cold water out of the hot water faucet. The heater is not lit or turned on. Do you have propane? Light a range burner to find out. Is the switch for gas water heater turned on and does the burner light? Can you hear it sparking but not light? Might be air in the propane line - keep turning the switch momentarily off and on. If it still won't light then reset the over temp buttons on the heater (normally under a black rubber cover). Try again. Still not working? Might be a bad water heater controller (mine died after one trip), Replace controller and look at the Dinosaur boards.

5. Will it heat on shore power? This takes two things in most cases: The inside switch must be on (if you have one for electric) AND there is a switch on the front of the water heater that has to be on. DO NOT ENABLE SHORE POWER IF THE TANK IS NOT FULL OF WATER. Enable the electric heat and wait an hour and see if it getting warm.

Sorry for the length but if this doesn't fix it, I don't know what else it could be. Good luck.

Just a dumb question. Could this Forester luxury vehicle possibly have TWO water heaters? And only one is turned on?

Possible cause for no hot water

Thank you for all your responses, I spent most of Saturday am on the phone with the dealer troubleshooting and the end result is the kitchen slide is most probably the cause pinching the hot water line between the two sinks. We have cold water, just no hot. At the same time this happened the Lippert one control lost the bedroom slide icon so we had no way to get the slide in until we resolved that issue also. That is why I wasnít able to answer all your questions quickly, I apologize. Service scheduled for that also! Not an enjoyable first trip out in new rig! Maybe next time. LOL thx so much.
