on demand water heater

I have a new fifth wheel which has on demand hot water. I have read of issues if the water flow/pressure is to low. The fix seems to be run water in a sink to increase flow, which in turn will trigger the heater to come on. That waste water which goes into the grey tank and forces you to take a very short "Marine" shower. Has anyone installed a tee and tapped into the heater outlet with a valve and line back to the FW tank? When needed, you could adjust the valve to get just enough flow to run the heater. Would this work or am I missing something?
