Regarding toilets bubbling when you flush. (
previous thread)
So I am a year late to the conversation, but felt you might appreciate from my huge mistake.
DW uses waaay too much TP. Toilet starts bubbling. Phew, stinky fumes. I could run a snake down the vent pipe, but there is a mesh cap and I didn't want to cut a hole in it.
So I had a brilliant idea. I'll get the shop vac out, set it to blow instead of suck, and put the hose over the vent. I had a towel wrapped around the vent edges to get a better seal. DW is in the restroom, holding the flush pedal open. I flip on the vac, air goes out, and screams come from the bathroom.
Two words.
Poop. Volcano.
Mess everywhere, and a very, very angry wife great me when I rush down from the roof and into the trailer. Oh my. Not sure where all of that came from since the tank had been drained, flushed, and flowing clear.
And unfortunately, the toilet still burps. We are out on another trip now, and I'm considering my next options in fixing the blocked vent. Next attempt will have it hooked up to a drain or external blue tank, and the toilet valve shut and the seat down, just in case!
