The air fitting does not go in your water heater.

It screws on to your city water connection.

Any rv store or even walmart has the fitting.

It may be plastic or brass.

Make sure you turn the regulator down on the compressor. I use about 30-40 lbs to blow out our fifth wheel. Don't want to damage the plumbing.

these work great just a quick fyi I did find a wand that you attach to a garden hose and use to flush out the water heater I just got it this summer and used it for the first time when I closed up this fall my camper is an 06 and I have never done anything but drain out the water heater before WOW did I get a lot of scale out of it with that wind I'll do it again next spring when I open it up for the season it should really help it work well
