Portable pump for freshwater fill-ups

I use a little pump from harbor freight. Draws out of 5 gallon jugs.. 12volt alligator clips to rv battery.

I have one of those turbo pumps and it works great, I use it to pump the gas out of the fuel tank in my jet ski, my yard equipment, lawnmowers and generator.

The best thing about this pump is that it works on 120Vac or a 20V battery, if you already have some of their 20V Bauer tools you can just use one of those batteries instead of having to buy a battery and charger separately.


The battery is either $25 or $45 (1.5Ah or 3.0ah), and the charger is $23, they also have a 20V leaf blower ($50), I rounded each of the prices up by a penny.

As I never boondock I've never thought about stuff like this, I just make sure the water tank is full before I hit the road. I don't use the rest stop facilities anymore now that I'm retired and not driving a big truck.



I also have to have 120V for my O2 concentrator and the bedside monitor for my pacemaker / defibrillator.

My tank is only 32 Gallons and its good for about 5 days to a week.

My new 5er has a 51 gallon water tank so I have no idea how many days it would last before having to refill it, normally it's only me and my 2 dogs whenever I go camping, unless that trip is for a mandatory hurricane evacuation, then it's 3 adults, 4 dogs, a puppy and 3 cats.

There were a lot of nice and some complex pumps suggested. I use a small pump that runs on D cells and available from Amazon for around $20 - $25.

The Drummond Pump from Harbor Freight looks like a dandy at $49.99, then use one of there always available 20% off coupons and for $40 looks like a darn sturdy pump.

Me, I'd go the on board pump that is easily accessible in my wet bay, how convenient.

I purchased a small submersible 12 volt transfer pump from Amazon for $15.00 and attached a hose to it. It fits perfectly onto the spout of a Sparklets type water jug. Here's the link.

I use this transfer pump I got at Menards. It pumps a 6 gal container into fresh water tank in a couple of minutes.

Greetings, I don't know if this has already been shown but I have been using this for a while. I always carry 2-3 6 gallon jerrycans of fresh water. If needed to refill while boondocking this has worked nicely.

Get a 12v pump from harbor freight. Cheap. A couple of shorts hoses and you are good to go

Like many others I use an rv water pump to move water from the 35 gal water tank that I fill and keep in my tv. I went a little further and installed a 1/2" water line from the front of my trailer to the frame below the water fills and use a short jumper hose to either hook to the city water connection or fill the fw tank. When I can fill the tank from a nearby spigot but cannot keep a hose attached I put it on the ground, by the trailer, and hook to the city water connection. This keeps the pump noise outside the trailer, allows me to monitor how much water we are putting in the gray water tank and adds 35 gallons to the trailers fresh water supply.

I bought a 60(?) gal water bag, and a replacement pump for my sabre (doubles as a spare). I rigged it for easy battery hook up and hose fittings, so now it's easy fw tank refills.
