Red face Potable Water tank pressure problem

We have a 2018 Rockwood Mini Lite 2509S and are having problems with the fresh water tank pressure. We are new to this so this may be our fault. When we turn the water pump on, it runs constantly and we get very little water pressure. It sputters and at times sends no water at all. I am thinking that the valve used for winterizing the camper is not fully open for the fresh water tank line, but I am not sure how to tell. Could someone give me the idiots guide on how to make sure this is properly done to get consistent fresh water tank pressure. Also, shouldn’t the water pump shut off when the lines have all been pressurized? Any help, pictures, etc. would be greatly appreciated by this newbie owner.

This is what my valve looks like in normal everyday setup.

Yes the water pump should shut off when it reached a specific psi and holds.
Will go on when the faucet is turned on.

Does it do it on both hot and cold at the faucets or just hot?

You may or may not have a problem. If your water heater is empty when you start the water pump, it will take 2-3 minutes of running to fill the water tank and pressurize the system. This is normal. If the pump runs 4 minutes or more, you may have a partially closed winterizing valve. The winterizing valve is usually just prior to the pump input and in one direction it will suck water from the FW tank and in the other direction suck antifreeze from a gallon jug.

Did you put water into the fresh water tank to make sure it is above the suction line?

Does this mean you have pressure?

That is the problem, we get some pressure, but the pump never stops running and the pressure goes away quickly.

Be sure your winterizing valve is closed. Be sure all your faucets and showers are off. Be sure your low point drains are closed.

Looking at your picture, that valve looks like it should be pointing to either side not toward what looks like the winterizing line. No harm in trying that.

Also check for any kinked lines. We had the same issue and found out the line coming from the fresh water tank was slightly kinked.

Also check to be sure the suction strainer on the pump (clear bowl in Post # 2) isn't loose or cracked and sucking air.

We've had a couple reports in the last few weeks where folks had found the bowl has froze and cracked over winter. I had one once that vibrated loose from the the vibration of the pump.
