Received new RV with full black tank!

Need help please. Our 2018 Salem RL28SS was delivered last week from Alabama with a full black tank! They don’t know how it was missed and said to have a company come out, flush the tank and fix any issues since no one knows how long it was on the lot full. What type of company would come out to flush and repair? We called a septic service, mobile repair. Septic is too large and expensive mobile RV repair doesn’t have a pump truck. Does anyone know what type of company to call? We’re in Flagler county Fl. The dealer will pay this company however we don’t even have tags on it yet. Thanks for your advice.

Can you take it to your closest campground and empty it? I know you shouldn’t have to do that but it would be the fastest and easiest.

The only company to call IMO would be a septic tank pumping company. Cost would probably be around 200 dollars, or as others have said, go to a campground and pay the 20 dollars or so and do a dump.

where have you got it parked?

at your house look for your sewer clean out

open that up and dump it in there
------------------------------------------------------------------

has it got temporary tags or anything , can you you to tow it?
find your local dump station tow it to there and keep receipts

take it to a campground .... TEST camp for a day or two
then dump the tank
-------------------------------------------------------------------

google septic tank pumping flagler

I'll ask... how do you know it is full?
Indicator lights are notoriously inaccurate.

Truth. Mine say 3/4 and 1/2 when empty.

Before doing anything more I'd suggest making sure city water is off as well as water pump. Then press flush lever on toilet and using a flashlight look down hole. If tank is truly full you'll see it. If you see the bottom of the tank you'll know the gauge is not accurate.

The above assumes your toilet outlet is a straight dump to the tank like most.

First, don't panic. Just because the tank is full doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with it. These tanks are meant to hold black water. The fact that it's got water in it and the 'stuff' has been loosened up by the long haul it took to get it to you will make it easier to empty.

You mentioned that septic it 'too large.' What kind of access is there to the rig? You might want to call a local campground and see if they know of a 'honey wagon' company in your area.

If there is no good access to the rig, do you have the ability to tow it to a campground or dump station?

I have heard that companies that rent port-a-poties, can pump out rv tanks. I have heard they need an adapter so as not to collapse your tank.

Honey Wagon service. Contact local campgrounds for recommendations.

That's true.
Our local septic and porta-pot rental place can pump out R/Vs.
When we had our bluegrass festival they would come and do pump-outs for $5. They did hundreds.

But... we still don't know if it is/was really full.

I agree with others; confirm it is not empty by opening flush and looking in toilet.

Simplest, dump at a campground and flush the tank.

Finding your house clean out and connecting to it is another option.

5 gallon buckets to the house toilet is probably the least desirable but is doable.

What am I missing? This isn't a new trailer. It's 5-years old (maybe 6 knowing how these model years run). Empty tanks would be the surprise.

Empty them just like you would any other time.
