Talking RV Water Cannister

Hi All

Need to replace the broken water housing cannister, a PWP, 1/2 in NPT 2.5X10, part # FRE-10H

Help - Anybody know of an affordable solution or similar knock off part? When I can find this piece it ranges around $40 or higher - for a part really not needed. Most of the time I do as most and filter the water at the entry point, do not drink the water inline. But ...

Don't have the time (?) parts or tools to just bypass (or tell me I'm wrong) and in the event I do want to drop in a cartridge, I think I should restore it as it was. Does anyone know of a decent workable replacement? I guess the bypass route intimidates me as I do not know so sure the threading or pieces to get and when I stopped at the local Big Box (you know where this is going), I wasted an hour trying to find someone who could locate the parts and there are these stinking supply chain issues.

I tried one that was $17, but the fitting at the top is not the same

Thanks

I would forget about trying to match the fittings cut them out and use 1/2 shark-bite fittings and the right size PEX or braided line to span the gap. I bypassed mine years ago and repurposed it to a outside bumper mount which is the only way to go. JMHO

You're probably right. I tend to make things harder than they have to be - and I'm not dropping $50 for a piece of plastic.

I tried to get this done at the hardware store, but staffing was horrible, parts were MIA and the one fellow didn't know what to tell me.

I'm familiar with the hard plastic pipe, but I have no worked with plex using the more flexible rv water lines. I assume they would 'hold' as strong as the hard lines or like copper pipe, which I've done.

I'll find a different hardware store. ? Thank you
