Sanitizing question

When I sanitize my FW tank, do I keep the hot water heater on bypass or sanitize that too?

Many sanitize the water heater.
Through past discussions, I'd say about 75% do and the rest do not.

Either way your call But after your solution sits in the system for the recommended time turn off your Pump and City water, now open your H & C taps in the kitchen or bath,Now remove your Water Heater Drain Plug! This will allow Most of your Sanitizer and CRUD from your system to Exit out on the ground,Not Downstream in your water lines! Youroo!!

I have mixed feelings about this one....last spring when sanitizing the water system, I opted to include the hot water tank in the process. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed afterwards, but we had a bleachy hot water smell for quite some time afterwards before it finally disappeared. Made me think that I may just go back to bypassing it while sanitizing.

Quick question - did you replace your in-line water filter? If not, that MIGHT have accounted for the lingering chlorine smell.

I sure did....I pulled that inline filter right out of the system and bypassed it with my very first mod to the trailer. Thanks for that tip though, as that would certainly impact it and can be of benefit for others reading this.
