Sewer flush

Our TT came with the sewer flush option. We've used our camper a couple times using it for long weekends. Should I be adding chemicals to the black tank? I haven't noticed a smell (haven't been in the TT since our last trip 3 weeks ago) and I flushed the tank 3 different times on our last trip. Just wondering if it is neccessary to add chemicals (or the GEO method) on a new TT??

I would recommend the geo method. The sooner you start, the less effort it takes on the upkeep later. just my 2 cents.

Chemicals are flushing money down the drain. It is a smell to cover up smell. Marketing has done a job convincing people they "need" a product that ...does? If the tank is clean it will not smell.

The geo method, helps the tank drain / rinse more readily. Additionally, besides avoiding the noxious truck stop bathroom cheap perfume scent, geo also avoids the dangerous chemicals some of the tank additives contain.

Also do not leave black tank dry between outings.
Always replace empty tank with a few gallons of water during Geo method.

You can add a bit of water at the end with your black tank flush. Just close the dump valve and leave the water run for a little bit. Just got back last night at 9 and we're leaving again on Friday at 4. I'll add the water softener and laundry detergent when I get to the campsite.

My DH and I were kind of surprised at the depth of the black tank. We had a small issue a week ago (didn't use enough water with the "solids") and had to "help" it down. The tanks are only like 8" deep or something like that. For some reason, I thought they were deeper. Big lesson learned.

I've had a tt for 7 years now and have never heard of the geo method. I'm going to give it a try on our trip this week.

You'll be surprised at how clean your dump water will be and odor elimination. Use it in the grey tank as well.
