Sewer hose I'm not sure what to do with

Hi, newbie here. Leaving in a week for the maiden voyage. With my second hand RV purchase I inherited a Camco expanding hose with only one end on it along with a few sets (4)of the Rhino models. What is it good for?

If it's long enough, you could possibly use it at the dump stations where the inlet cap is close to the rv when you drive up. I have a 5' rhino hose set that I use for that. It has the ends and an elbow, but a lot of places it would work without an end

X2.
Often times folks will use a hose with one end at dump stations and they will simply place the connectorless hose end in the drain hole when dumping.

Many states, townships, campgrounds have regulations/rules stating that when connected to the sewer system at an occupied site, the sewer hose must be connected via connectors at BOTH ends.

Thanks for the thoughts. I also inherited 4x 10' Rhino expanding hoses with screw in elbow. Sounds like this hose might have been OEM and I should just store it and stick with the better stuff.

A short hose with a connector only at one end -- other end is open -- is what I use if I have to use the dump station. "Loose" end fits in the sewer. As noted this hose is not for campsite use as it does not make a sealed connection.

"Short and Sweet" (assuming you practice getting close enough to the dump pipe).

Often times the original selling dealer 'gives' a sewer hose, fresh water hose and assorted odds and ends to the customer as part of a "ready to camp" package.

The stuff they pass along is often inexpensive and the process is used as a marketing gimmick but used by many a dealer.

No doubt the Rhino stuff is better quality but that hose you have would work better than nothing at all. If you have room to carry, I'd keep it just in case.

I only carry two Rhinoflex sewer hoses, one 15ft equipped with sewer elbow connection, and one 10ft plain extension. The 10 ft collapses to about 40", and the 15 ft to just a tad more than 4ft without the sewer adapter. Both store nicely in the bumper. Do not need an "extra" short hose for the dump station.

No one really knows what they need when they're "newbies" and the dealer startup kit is actually a good idea as it gets ya going in at least a minimal fashion. Replace with "better" parts if needed.

Lots of ways to do this sort of stuff. For example I have no (none, nada) 3" or 4" sewer hoses other than a 4' shorty in the back pumper for the dump site. On a full service site I use the Sewer Solution(r) which is a 1" hose that's smooth inside and stows neatly. YMMV.

Just make sure you do something to keep the open end in the hole or else.....

I keep one just like that as a spare in case something happens to the much nicer one with the clear ends and the proper angles I need.

It is great for an emergency or a pinch.

Pretend like your TT is like your garage.

Never throw out anything you might need someday, as sure as shooting, if you do your will need it tomorrow.
