ShurFlo Extreme 4.0

Does anyone know why ShurFlo stopped making the Extreme series variable speed fresh water pumps? A few years back I installed one in our 5th wheel and loved it. I bought a back up a couple years later to carry with us and never used it. Now a few years later I need a new pump in my DP, saw this new one still in the box so I installed it and it works perfectly. Did a little research and it appears they no longer make any variable speed pumps.

Most things get cancelled if there are either not enough people buying them or too many issues with it. I do hate when I find something I like only to find out it's not being produced any longer.
